Vertical Diversity, Horizontal Diversity
I think N High School is a school that has vertical diversity and lateral diversity compared to other schools. Recently, I had the opportunity to talk to a friend who graduated from Nada High School and went on to Tokyo University. We had a conversation like "seniors are doing a Ph.D. abroad." They have a network of alumni and current students, as well as a wide range of choices based on their family background. However, in local schools, you may not see college students around (≒ you don't know what they are doing). Naturally, I think the college enrollment rate would also decrease in such an environment. In local public schools, there is vertical diversity (from the upper to lower social classes), and in private schools in urban areas, there is lateral diversity (from those aiming for the Olympics to researchers), I think. However, N High School is unique and has a three-dimensional vertical diversity and lateral diversity. In exchange for being able to decide everything by yourself, you are responsible for all of them. In elementary school, I went to a public school, so there was a wide range of people from those who have become anti-social to those who have become doctors. However, in the private school I entered from junior high school to university, it was basically children of Kyoto's wealthy or elite businessmen, so the homogeneity within the organization is extremely high. But actually, it's easier and more fun to gather in such homogeneous groups.

Recently, when we look at "diversity" in terms of national, regional, racial, and religious aspects, it seems that the lateral diversity such as social and economic class and cultural capital is seriously ignored, especially in elite education. It feels like the epitome of NIMBY.
